There will be approximately $750,000 in delinquent taxes that could be collected at the upcoming tax lien sale.
The sale is scheduled for Nov. 23, Lawrence County Treasurer Stephen Burcham told the county commission at its regular Thursday meeting.
Property owners owing these back taxes can still pay the taxes or set up a payment plan before the sale starts.
Burcham also reported TaxEase has bought $114,731 worth of subliens.
Commission agreed to donate property the county owns where the bleachers are at Dawson-Bryant High School to the school district with the stipulation it pays the surveying and recording costs.
In other action the commission:
• Approved the county’s measurement period as recommended by insurance consultant Jeremy Eastwood;
• Approved repaying the advance made to the grant fund for adult probation from the internal adult probation fund in the amount of $12,500;
Approved a 40-hour sick leave donation from employee to employee.
