Due to the expected rain Saturday, People for the Point decided to cancel its scheduled Heritage Day at the South Point Community Park.

People for the Point president Chris Smith said the group made the decision to save the money on more than $5,000 worth of items reserved because of the forecast. Smith added that it was unlikely Heritage Day will be rescheduled as the money will now most likely be used for holiday events.
