Passenger injured in 2-car accident

SOUTH POINT — A passenger was partially ejected from the car he was riding in following a head-on collision on County Road 1, near Burlington, on Monday night.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol received the call at 6:53 p.m. Robert Hamlin Jr., 33, of South Point, was eastbound when the Chevy Blazer he was driving intersected with a Jeep driven by Courtney Barnett, 18.
Joseph Weed was the passenger in Barnett’s vehicle. That accident remains under investigation. All three were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center.
A Tuesday collision slowed morning traffic on State Route 93 and Hecla Road.
At approximately 6:50 a.m. the 2013 Chevy Tahoe driven by Cassandra Lunsford, 29, of Waterloo, rear-ended the 2004 Ford Focus driven by Jennifer Aliff, 29, of Ironton, as Aliff was turning into Hecla Road.
Aliff had minor injuries and was taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center.
Lunsford was cited for not maintaining an assured clear distance.
The highway patrol also investigated.
