Two South Point men and a man from Columbus are facing second-degree drug trafficking charges following a bust Thursday evening.
A search warrant was executed at the home of William D. Yapp of 9372 County Road 1, South Point at 7:15 p.m. following an investigation by the sheriff’s office and drug and major crimes task force.
“During the investigation confidential informants purchased heroin at Yapp’s residence from Mark D. Smith, 65, of 1332 Kent Street, Columbus, and Robert A. Duty, 51, of 9371 County Road 1, South Point,” according to a release from the office of prosecuting attorney Brigham M. Anderson.
Yapp and Duty were arrested at Yapp’s house. Smith was found at a nearby residence where he was arrested.
Investigators found $1,800 on Smith and heroin, cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana, digital scales and a firearm at that house.
Bond was set at $100,000 for each man. The cases will be heard by the grand jury this month.
