Several Ironton businesses have been broken into over the past week, prompting police to ask for help in search of the suspects.
According to Ironton Police Detective Joe Ross, the Auger Inn in the 2300 block of South Third Street was broken into Monday night.
“We got the call about 9 a.m. (Tuesday),” Ross said. “They (the suspects) broke the cigarette machine open and got the quarters out of it.”
Some liquor was also taken.
The suspects gained entry by prying open the back door.
That was also the case on Aug. 19 when M and M Inflatables was broken into in the 3600 block of South Third Street. Ross said an undetermined amount of money was taken.
On Aug. 22, the front door of DVS Ink and Iron, in the 100 block of South Third Street, was pried open. There, some tattoo equipment was stolen, Ross said.
Ross said the break-ins may be related.
The only security footage taken from one of the businesses shows two suspects, but they have not been identified.
“They are covered from head to toe,” Ross said. “We don’t know who they are.”
Ross asked that anyone with information call him at 740-442-1876.
“If anyone sees any suspicious people late at night at a business, call me or call the sheriff’s office have them dispatch the police,” Ross said.
