SOUTH POINT­­­­–– A back-to-school movie night hosted by People for the Point is set for 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at in the South Point Community Park.

“People for the Point will give free popcorn and a free drink to each person,” Chris Smith, president of the group, said. “The event is free for families.”

The movie, which Smith said has not yet been decided, will be family friendly and shown on a 16-foot inflatable movie screen.

“We wanted to do something to get the community involved and the kids ready for the new school year,” Smith said. “It’s also a way that we give back.”

It is advised to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs to watch the movie. Everyone is welcome to attend.
