The Ironton Rotary Club has a long-standing tradition of annually helping nursing students who are in their junior or senior year attain their goal of becoming a registered nurse with a four-year degree.

Again this year, the club will award $500 scholarships for the 2015-16 academic year to students who have the academic standing and can show a need for assistance. Each scholarship winner will also personally receive $200 for other school-related expenses such as textbooks or fees.

Anyone from Lawrence County who will be a junior or senior in a four year nursing program in the upcoming 2015-16 academic year, is eligible to apply for the nursing scholarship.

The deadline for applications has been extended to 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 1.
