2 named to Lawrence County port authority

A Huntington, West Virginia, accountant and a longtime community activist and banker have been named to the Lawrence County Port Authority.
The appointments of Hayflich accountant Aaron Heighton and Citizens Deposit banker Jodi Rowe-Collins were approved by Lawrence County Commissioners at their regular Thursday meeting.
“Aaron is a great person from Ironton,” Dr. Bill Dingus, executive director of the Lawrence Economic Development Corporation, said. “He is a financial person. And Jodie and her financial knowledge as well as her contribution to the community. Jodi has been a person behind so many good things that have happen in Lawrence County.”
They will join on the port authority Tom McKnight, Paul Woods, Keith Molihan, Sandy Blackburn, Mike McKee, Dan Jeffries and Carl Darling.
In other action the commission:
• Approved the 2015 marine patrol assistance agreement where the county provides $4,331.57 with a state match of $12,992.10;
• Met in executive session with interim director of the department of job and family services Terry Porter over personnel matters.
