LATHAM — The Green Bobcats climb up and down the ladder in rapid fashion.
The Bobcats racked up 12 hits en route to an 18-1 five-inning romp over the Western Indians on Tuesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.
Eight different players collected hits and the Bobcats took advantage of 11 walks plus a hit batsman to improve their record to 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the SOC.
“We had hits up and down the lineup. It was a workman-like effort and we got to play a lot of kids,” said Green coach Dan McDavid.
Josh Karshner was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs batted in, Trevor Carver was 2-3 with a double and two RBI, Josh Clark 2-3 with a pair of RBI, Tyler Johnson 2-2 and two RBI, and Ben Vance was 1-1 but had four RBI including a pair of sacrifice flies.
Tyler Darnell, Mark Allen and Rylie Maynard all had a hit with Allen getting two RBI.
Carver got the win as he allowed just two hits, struck out nine and walked two.
Green jumped in front 6-1 in the first inning, Johnson and Vance each had two-run singles to highlight the rally.
The Bobcats erupted for 10 runs in the second inning as they combined three walks and a hit batsman with two-run doubles by both Karshner and Carver.
Green hosts Beaver Eastern on Wednesday in an SOC game.
