Directions to Logan

Fans attending the girls’ Div. III regional tournament at Logan High School can take the following route:

Go north on Route 93 to Jackson and turn right onto U.S. 32 to Athens.

In Athens, take 33 toward Columbus. Continue on 33 until you come to County Highway 33A Exit 180 toward Laurelville. Turn right onto Chieftain Drive (County Highway 33A). 28841 Chieftain Drive is on the right.

 

Ironton D3 district

tickets on sale

Pre-sale tickets for the Ironton vs. Wheelersburg boys’ Division III district basketball tournament championship game will be on sale at the Ironton High School auto shop during school hours and during business hours until Friday at Iron City Hardware.

Tickets are $6 and the school receives only a percentage of the pre-sale.

The game is Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Ohio University Convocation Center in Athens.

There will be two Division IV games at noon and 2 p.m. The arena will be cleared and re-opened for the Division III district finals.

 

SV rummage sale

moved to March 14

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings’ softball team will conduct their 8th annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, in the high school gym. Proceeds benefit the softball team.

Persons wishing to make donations for the rummage sale may drop off items at the school from 3-to-8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, or contact coach Jeff “Odie” Estep at (740) 643-2021 or the school at 643-2371 if items need to be picked up.

 

Robertson tourney

to fund scholarship

The inaugural Jon Robertson Memorial Scholarship Softball Tournament will be held March 13-15 at the Huntington (W.Va.) High School baseball field.

This open tournament is a hit-your-own 44-core 400-pound compression or lower with unlimited home run double elimination.

Entry fee is $150. There are two spaces available. To enter, call (304) 417-4265.

Proceeds benefit the Robertson Scholarship.

 

5-on-5 tourney set

for Memorial Day

Only 1st Impressions will conduct the “Kingz of the Kourtz” 5-on-5 men’s basketball tournament May 23-24 on the outdoor courts of 9th and Madison Streets.

Entry fee is $160 for 8-player maximum roster for 16 teams. Players must be 18 or older. Entry deadline is April 23.

First place is $16,000 and a trophy.
