A special Valentine’s Day-theme dinner will serve as a way to support the youth at First Baptist Church of Ironton.
“We are doing it as a fundraiser for the church youth group’s summer camp,” Amy Barnes, an organizer, said. “This year they are going to Hocking Hills for a retreat.”
Menu is chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, rolls and dessert for $10.
During the dinner and afterwards Michael Reeves and Michael Kingery will provide musical entertainment.
“They will be doing some of the older songs,” Barnes said.
Only 100 tickets will be sold for the dinner and entertainment.
“If they call the church, we can put aside those tickets, if they want to come,” she said. “They will know they have a ticket.”
The dinner starts at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church’s fellowship hall.
Today until 1:30 p.m. the church is also having a hot dog and bake sale in the first floor of the annex of the courthouse, also to raise funds for the youth group. Two hot dogs with sauce and a bag of chips will cost $4. There will also be baked goods on sale.
