COLUMBUS (AP) — Gas prices in Ohio are down to start the work week.
The state’s average price for a gallon of regular gas was $ 1.89 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s 10 cents cheaper than a week ago and $1.39 per gallon less than a year ago.
The national average Monday was $2.03 per gallon. That’s three cents less than a week ago and about $1.26 cheaper than the average cost at this time last year.
Toledo saw the lowest prices among Ohio’s metropolitan areas, with a gallon of gas averaging about $1.80 Monday.
Analysts say average national gas prices are likely to increase soon due to recent rising costs of crude oil.
