Lambert speaker for MLK event

Lawrence County veteran Dennis Lambert will be keynote speaker at the annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration hosted by the Southeastern Ohio NAACP branch that serves Gallia, Jackson and Lawrence counties. This year the branch is partnering with the University of Rio Grande MLK Committee and RSVP of the Ohio Valley.
Lambert has worked for the Military Veterans Resource Center in Chillicothe for the past two years. He has been an active NAACP member since 2010. He also splits his spare time volunteering for veterans service organizations, health care advocacy organizations, the Ironton-Lawrence Co. Memorial Day Parade Committee, the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition and the Ohio Green Party.
Director of RSVP of the Ohio Valley Susan Rogers will announce and introduce the MLK contest winners at this event in Gallipolis. The winners come from the fourth and fifth grades of Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence and Vinton counties.
This celebration is open to the public free of charge and will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Paint Creek Regular Missionary Baptist Church, 833 Third Ave. in Gallipolis.
