The Lawrence County Animal Shelter will be howling away on Friday for its first Halloween Party at the Pound.
The party runs from 4-8 p.m. where there will be raffles, a bake sale and photographs taken of pets in their favorite Halloween costumes.
All photographs will be posted online Friday evening and the public can vote for its favorite. The one with the most “likes” will win a $30 gift card from Petsmart with the runner-up getting a $20 gift card.
For those who can’t get to the shelter Friday night, they can bring in their costumed pet this week from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The photographs will be posted on the shelter’s Facebook page.
“They need to bring them in here to take their picture to be fair,” Melissa Nicely, employee at the shelter said. “We will post everybody’s picture the same.”
Baskets to be raffled include a fall basket, cat basket, 31 basket and a dog beauty basket with coupons for groomings at two separate salons. Tickets are $5 or five for $20.
