COAL GROVE — Shipping and receiving mail just got easier in Lawrence County.

Pack and Ship, a full-service business for all things mail related, has opened at 607 Marion Pike in Coal Grove.

Located adjacent to her formal wear business, A Black Tie, owner Tracy Ferguson realized the need for Pack and Ship when her husband complained about the hassle of shipping things he sells on eBay.

“We are an authorized location for carriers DHL, FedEx and the United States Postal Service,” Ferguson said. “We also ship with UPS.”

Before Pack and Ship opened four weeks ago the closest authorized FedEx shipping location was in Portsmouth. Ferguson said often when people come in they are excited to have a much shorter drive.

“We’ll ship anything,” she said. “We just shipped a Harley-Davidson frame last week.”

In the lobby of Pack and Ship is a dentist’s chair that Ferguson plans to soon ship somewhere.

“We are selling this on eBay for someone,” she said. “We also offer that service for people.”

Because Pack and Ship is authorized by three different carriers Ferguson can enter the weight and dimensions of what’s being shipped and see a side-by-side comparison of prices, which allows customers to ship at the lowest rate.

Other services offered by Pack and Ship are mailbox rental, which allows people to have packages shipped to the store for a fee, one size box with a flat fee shipping, freight shipping, faxes, copies, lamination and document shredding.

“We also offer professional packing,” Ferguson said. “We go through training and everything professionally packed is guaranteed. We are taught to pack it like it’s going to be passed like a football and not get damaged.”

Pack and Ship also sells boxes, tape and packing materials.
