COAL GROVE — The annual John Jones Memorial Golf Scramble will take place on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Ironton Country Club.
Cost to participate is $150 for a three-member team and registration begins at 11 a.m. and tee time is 1 p.m.
“I don’t know if people realize the money (the Coal Grove Lions Club) puts into the community,” Tom Carey, Coal Grove Lions Club member, said. “We get requests all the time and not just from people in Coal Grove. We help people who need help. It doesn’t matter where they live.”
At the event will be free food provided by Coal Grove Giovanni’s, door prizes and a chance to win a new car with a hole-in-one sponsored by Bob Clyse.
“The food is not just pizza. It’s sandwiches and everything,” Carey said. “This is really one of the best deals around. Each player gets 18 holes of golf, a full dinner, free soft drinks during play, a chance to win a new car and a $100 gift certificate for Greg Norman golf items.”
