Anna Burns

Anna L. Burns, 84, of Kitts Hill, passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at her residence. The Cabell County, W.Va., native was born Nov. 21, 1929, the daughter of the late Charles and Clara Abbot Epling. Mrs. Burns is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Burns.

Mrs. Burns attended the School for the Blind in West Virginia, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Epling; and two sisters, Janice Dillon, and Jean Epling Fizzer.

She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosa and Roger Short, of Kitts Hill, and Shirley and Chancey Mannon, of Ironton, and Linda Burns of, Kitts Hill; two sons, Ronald Burns, of Kitts Hill, and Harold Burns, of Florida;

a sister, Katherine Walters, of Ohio; two brothers, Clifford Sword, of South Point, and Raymond Epling, of Newark; nine grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Langdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

 

Richard Dailey

Richard Dailey, 57, of Kitts Hill, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at his home with his family and friends at his side.

He was born Feb. 2, 1957, a son of the late Robert E. Dailey and the late Bonnie Jean Dow. He was a graduate of Meigs County High School, a member of the Carpenters Union Local 650 and of the Christian faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Don Lee Dailey.

He is survived by three sons, Niclos Dailey, Dylan Robert Dailey and Zachary Dailey; three daughters, Danielle Burke and her husband Phillip, Amanda Maxine Dailey and Jacklyn Dailey; five brothers, James Robert, Marc Allan, Paul, David and J.P. Kimes, and all their wonderful families; three grandchildren, Olivia and Violet Connolly, Lyla Burke; his former wives, Pam Schwarz, Juli Ayn Mourning and Jean Anne Dailey; very special friends, Jeff Krommenacker, Terry Jarrell, the Petry Clan, the Butcher Clan, Carolyn Dailey, Chad Lee, Dean and Juli Webb, Larry Harper, Jim and Carol Mourning, Aaron Corbin, Mike and Tommy Wheeler, Billy Harper; and a host of family and friends.

Keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. Memorial donations should be directed to the family in his honor to help with final expenses. His children have entrusted his care to Brown Funeral Chapel in Ironton.

 

 

Shirley Johnson

Shirley Pauline Johnson, 94, of Proctorville, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va. She is survived by her husband, William Johnson. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Jeannine Kay Perry, 57, of Kenova, W.Va., formerly of Proctorville, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at home. She is survived by her husband Allen Perry. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. today at the funeral home. Hershel Thomas Graham, 76, of Proctorville, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at home. Funeral service will be conducted 12 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Vivian Prater

Vivian Juanita Prater, 71, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. Arrangements are pending at Brown Funeral Chapel in Ironton.
