Ironton youth football
registrations scheduled
The Ironton Youth Football League will conduct registrations for grade K-6 from 1:30-4 p.m. at the Ironton Little League fields on Saturday, July 12.
Flag football will be for grades K-1 although first graders have the option to play tackle football.
Fee is $40 per player or %60 per family.
ILL pitching machine
tourney for 7-8 year olds
The Ironton Little League will host its annual pitching machine tournament for boys and girls ages 7-8 on July 7-10.
Entry fee for the double elimination tournaments are $75. For more information, call (740) 414-0080.
Ironton youth soccer sets registration dates
The Ironton Area Youth Soccer Association will conduct registrations for the fall season at the Ironton City Center, 301 South Third Street, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, July 12 and 19.
The league is for youths ages 4-to-12 with birthdays between Aug. 1, 2002, to July 31, 2010.
Fee is $20 per youth and $15 for each additional sibling. There will be a $5 late fee after July 19. Everyone is welcomed.
Annual Flyer 5K run
scheduled for Aug. 16
The fourth annual Ironton Catholic Schools Flyer 5K run in cooperation with Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital and Ironton Urgent Care will be held starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the high school on the corner of Fifth and Quincy streets.
Fee is $15 before Aug. 9 and $20 after that date. Same day registration will be from 7-7:45 a.m. Checks may be made payable to Ironton Catholic Schools (912 South 6th St., Ironton, OH 45638).

Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers overall and in each of the 15 age groups. There will be no duplications. Tech shirts will be guaranteed to the first 200 runners. There were 283 entries last year.
Jackson annual 5K run planned for July 4th
JACKSON — The 18th annual Jackson County Freedom Fest 5K Run And Walk will be held on Friday, July 4 and will be run through the business district and western residential section of Jackson.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. at Manpower Park on East Main Street, across from the Jackson Square Shopping Center and Krogers, 530 E. Main Street.
Entry fee is $20 for pre-registration at TriStateRacer.com and $25 the day of the race. Proceeds will go toward the sponsoring of community events by the Jackson Area Chamber Of Commerce.
All participating runners will receive newly-designed dry-weave Sports Festival T-shirts. The race will be timed by TriStateRacer.com and the course used has been certified.
Plaques will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers and medals will be given to the top three finishers in all age divisions, outside of those winning plaques, in both the male and female categories.
There will also be a one-mile walk starting simultaneously with the 5K Run. Those wishing to participate in the walk, which has no registration fee, may purchase a T-shirt for $10.

Annual Faith & Fitness 5K run set for July 12
The fourth annual Faith and Fitness 5K run will be at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, at First Baptist Church in Ironton.
Fee is $15 before July 1 and $20 after that date. The race will start at the Fitness Center, 400 Vernon St.
Volleyball officials’ class schedule for July 14
Persons wanting to become an Ohio High School Athletic Association volleyball official should attend an instructional class that begins Monday, July 14.

Cliffside Kiwanis Junior tournament July 10
The Cliffside Golf Club will host its sixth annual Kiwanis Juniors at the club at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 10.
Registration will be from noon to 12:45 p.m. Fee is $20 for ages 9-12 and $30 for ages 13-15 and 16-18.

Individual stroke play will be used. Ages 10 and under will play nine holes and shorter yardage on the front nine.
Clubhouse certificates and individual awards will be presented to the top three places in each division. Cart/meal passes will be available to spectators for $15 in order to follow the tournament and eat with the participants.
Senior softball seeks

Lady Herd offering two softball camps
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall softball will be hosting an all-skills camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 28-29 for girls entering grades 1-8.
Interested athletes can print off the camp brochure from HerdZone.com and send in the registration form plus a $25 non-refundable deposit to the softball offices at P.O. Box 1360, Huntington, WV, 25715.
Lunch on campus and a one-hour swim (July 28 only) at the Marshall Rec Center are included.
The camp is conducted by Shonda Stanton, the Herd’s all-time winningest softball coach.
The Lady Herd “Fall Instructional Program” that will work on all aspects of pitching and hitting will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 9, 16,23 and 30 and Oct. 7 and 14.

Bo Reid youth baseball tournament in Tiffin
The 11th annual Bo Reid Memorial Baseball Tournament will be held July 26-27 in Tiffin.
There are 10U and 12U age divisions for the 3-game guarantee round robin format. First eight teams will be accepted.
