PROCTORVILLE — Earlier this month residents in Proctorville may have noticed the signage at Kings Daughters Medical Specialties was taken down and its doors closed.
The facility opened in 2011 and offered complete family care to the eastern end of Lawrence County, but Kings Daughters Medical Center decided to close the branch down earlier this year.
“It was closed the other week,” integrated communications, Tom Dearing, director said. “The facility did relatively well but it was felt that it would be more beneficial to bring our doctors and nurses closer to our home base.”
Dr. Eman Albaddawi, the branch’s internal medicine physician, will move to KDMC’s Burlington branch while Brooke Vass, a nurse practitioner, will see patients at the Ashland, Ky., facility.
