A severe thunderstorm with winds in excess of 70 miles per hour made its way through Lawrence County this evening and in its wake left 7,787 AEP Ohio customers without power.
Of the counties in AEP Ohio’s service area the county with the second-highest number of outages was Athens with 1,697.
Officials from AEP predict it will be Thursday before power is restored to all customers in Lawrence County.
