In March the new Proctorville City Hall opened at the site of the former post office on Elizabeth Street.
Last week the village hall was dedicated and a ribbon cutting ceremony was held. Part of the ceremony was the installation of a new flagpole and the raising of a state and American flag.
“The new flags were donated by the American Legion out of Chesapeake,” Proctorville Mayor, Rick Dunfee said. “And the ladies of the Save the Bell Committee had us a custom flag pole built.”
The flagpole was erected by village administrator Mark Root and Gary Waldron and councilman Brian Root gave the invocation. New lettering was applied to the building, which was also supplied by the Save the Bell Committee.
“The ladies helped provide us with the funds for the lettering,” Dunfee said. “We had so many people help with everything. I’d like to thank the village clerk, council, officials and our residents for making this an unforgettable day.”
