OUS Psychology Club hosts recent mental health fair

The Ohio University Southern Campus student Psychology Club, ACTION, hosted a mental health fair in the Riffe Center Mains Rotunda on Thursday
More than 20 area agencies that provide mental health-related services and support were represented with displays to share information about their programs.
As part of the event, Dr. Bill Webb, a psychotherapist and addictions counselor with Oasis Behavioral Health Services, spoke about the stigma attached to seeking treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues, as well as how individuals and families can overcome such obstacles to get the help they need.
Vendors at the fair included AEON Education Outreach Services, Bellefonte Behavioral Health, CONTACT, Family Guidance, Hope’s Place, Hospice, Jo-Lin Health Center, Lawrence County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Lawrence County Domestic Violence Task Force, Mended Reeds Mental Health, Oasis Behavioral Health, OUS, Student Accessibility Services, Pathways, Rescare – Barboursville, River Park, Safe Harbor, Shawnee Mental Health – Coal Grove, Southern Ohio Behavioral Health, Spectrum, Starlight Behavioral Health Services Inc., Studio 8, The Counseling Center Inc. and Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The event was free and open to the public.
