Early voting underway

Early voting in Ohio began at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and the Lawrence County Board of Election’ members casts their customary first votes.
Early voting begins 35 days before an election. Registered voters can request an absentee ballot through the mail or in person from their county board of elections. For specific information, including times and locations, contact the Lawrence County Board of Elections office at 740-532-0444.
In-person absentee voting hours for the May 6 primary election are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through Friday, April 4. Office hours will be extended to 8 a.m.-9 p.m. on Monday, April 7, but will return to 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday, April 14, until Friday, May 2. The last day for early voting is 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, May 3. There will be no early voting the Sunday prior to the election.
