Jean Todd

Sept. 12, 1946 — March 16, 2014

Jean Ann Todd, 67, of Haverhill, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014, at her residence. The Los Angeles, Calif., native was born Sept. 12, 1946, a daughter of the late William Ross Todd and Hope Brown Todd. She was also preceded in death by her life partner, James Skaggs, who passed away Aug. 7, 2013.

Jean was a graduate of California State University in Dominguez Hills, Calif., where she received her bachelor’s degree. She retired in 2007 from Toyota, where she was a business executive for more than 30 years. She was very active in arts and crafts and enjoyed making pottery. She was a loving, giving, caring aunt, sister, partner and friend and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a sister, Judy Todd, of Seal Beach, Calif.; two nieces, Kelly Todd Robinson, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Emily Rainey Link, of Woodland Hills, Calif.; a grand niece, Madeline Robinson; and two grand nephews, Ryan Robinson and Sam Robinson.

Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton. There will be a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

 

 

Enid Martin

Nov. 26, 1919 — March 20, 2014

Enid Jane McKee Martin, 94, of South Point, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The South Point native was born Nov. 26, 1919, a daughter to the late Edgar and Cora Dupuy McKee. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Carl B. Martin, who passed away in October 1976.

Mrs. Martin was one of the last two surviving graduates of the South Point High School’s class of 1938. She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of the Nazarene in South Point.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph McKee, Don McKee and Roy McKee; three sisters, Virginia Lee Bench, Ruth Willis and Dorothy Lester.

She is survived by a son, the Rev. Tim C. (Mika) Martin, of South Point; a daughter, Carla (Stanley) Montgomery, of Shoals, Ind.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 30 step great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Church of the Nazarene in South Point with the Rev. Robert Carter and the Rev. Jerry Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at the church. The family has requested no flowers. Jerry Vaughn

Jerry E. Vaughn, 74, of South Point, husband of Della Vaughn, died Friday at Concord Health and Rehab Center in Wheelersburg. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point is assisting the family with arrangements.

Darwin H. Ellis, 93, of Chesapeake, husband of Mina Ellis, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at the Emogene Dolen Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home in South Point is assisting the family with arrangements, which are incomplete.
