BIDWELL — This one was over almost before it began.

Fairland settled the outcome just five minutes into the game. The Lady Dragons went on a 16-0 run to start the game and led 21-5 at the end of the first quarter en route to a 62-28 rout of the River Valley Lady Raiders Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Terra Stapleton and Mackenzie Riley scored 12 points each to lead a balanced Fairland offense that saw 12 different players score.

Kelsey Riley added 9 points and Chandler Fulks had 8 points for the Lady Dragons (6-1, 2-0).

Chelsea Copley had 12 points for River Valley (3-3, 1-1).

Mackenzie Riley had 7 points and Fulks 5 in the first quarter as Fairland jumped in front. Mackenzie Riley scored 5 more points and Stapleton and Kelsey Riley had 4 each in the second quarter as the lead reached 41-11 at the half.

The Lady Dragons built their biggest lead of the half at 38-5 with less than four minutes on the clock.

Stapleton scored 4 points in the third quarter and it was 47-16.

The Lady Dragons led by 34 points twice in the second half, the first time coming with 6:23 to play as they opened up a 52-18 cushion.
