St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ironton is having sign-ups for its Christmas with Dignity program beginning this week.

Event coordinator Jeannie Tordiff expects this year to be as utilized as ever.

“We have 600 boxes of food here at the church,” she said. “People who sign up need to bring proof of what county they live in.”

Tordiff said people who sign up do not have to be a resident of Lawrence County.

The program has been in existence for a decade and has been a strictly food giveaway since the church stopped distributing toys after the first four years.

Sign ups are scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2; 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the church. The giveaway is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.
