Deputy auditor honored

Lawrence County Chief Deputy Auditor Chris Kline has received the President’s Award by the County Auditors Association of Ohio.

Kline was honored for his contribution to improving county government through his service and support of the county auditors’ association.

“I feel honored and I was shocked,” Kline said after receiving the award on Thursday. “I just do what I do. That is my job. I love it.”

Kline, who studied at Ohio University and Berea College in Berea, Ky., has been with the county auditor’s office for 25 years and chief deputy since 1999.

“Chris has been extremely well-respected throughout the state for his knowledge and his experience,” County Auditor Jason Stephens said. “It is good for him to be recognized. It is good for Lawrence County to know we have someone who is extremely qualified to be working in Lawrence County.”
