Linda Brown

March 3, 1950-Nov. 8, 2013

Linda K. Wilson Brown, 63 of Ironton, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born March 3, 1950, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Lenora Collins Wilson.

Ms. Brown was a 1969 graduate of Ironton High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Greater Faith Apostolic Church in Ironton. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Brown; and a brother, Robert Lee Wilson.

She is survived by two sons, Harold Eugene “Gene” Brown and Michele of Ironton and Paul Edward “Pete” Brown Jr. of Ironton; a daughter, Linda Darlene “Pint” Brown of Ironton; six grandchildren, Anthony Carl Brown, Brooke Ashley Brown, Britany Che Brown, Caleb Michael Brown, Jeffrey Bryce Freels and his wife Natalie, and Kennedi Michele Freels, all of Ironton; three sisters, Betty “Bay” Wilson, Mettie “Met” Martin and Janet Skaggs, all of Ironton; a brother, Lloyd “Bub” and Phyllis Wilson of Ironton; and many other loved ones and friends

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Greater Faith Apostolic Church with Pastor Jeremy Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Greater Faith Apostolic Church. At the family’s request donations may be made to the Greater Faith Apostolic Church Building Fund, 1305 S. Sixth St., Ironton, OH 45638.

Pallbearers will be Gene Brown, Pete Brown, Anthony Brown, Bryce Freels, David Skaggs, and Wed Harmon.

 

 

Letitia Truchoweski

Letitia Jane (Travis) Truchoweski, 97, of Ironton, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at her residence. Letitia was born in southeast Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Jesse and Cosetta (Preston) Travis. Letitia’s family moved to the Deering area in the mid 1920’s. She is a graduate of Coal Grove High School and was member of the high school girl’s basketball team.

John Truchoweski married Letitia Travis at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton where she has continued to be a parishioner. Letitia was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, a Eucharistic Minister, and active with the Charity Fair. She was also a volunteer with the Ladies Auxillary at Lawrence County General Hospital, a Boy Scout leader, and grade school league cheerleading coach.

Letitia was preceded in death by her husband, John Truchoweski; a daughter, Lois Wilson; two sons, John (Jackie) Truchoweski and James Truchoweski; and a granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth McClintic. She was the last surviving member of her family. She had four brothers, Herbert Travis, John Travis, James Travis, and Roy Travis; and four sisters, Lockie Bryant, Eula Carrico, Elsie Kelly, and Florence McDonie as well as her in-laws.

Surviving members of Letitia’s family are her daughters, Mary Kay and Jerry Harper, Jane and Tom Kearns, and Deborah and Perry McClintic. Letitia has 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, Ironton with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Coal Grove. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the church. A rosary service will also be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Memorial donations may be made in behalf of the family to Ironton Catholic Schools, 905 S. Fifth St. Ironton, OH 45638.

 

Connie Ray

Connie Lee Ray, 64, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

 

Jason Willis

Jason Michael Willis, 18, of Proctorville, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Proctorville. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home.
