IRONTON — A Detroit, Mich., woman was arrested following a traffic stop early Saturday morning after police found about $45,000 worth of heroin in her vehicle.

A release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Evelyn M. Robinson, 44, was pulled over for moving violations at about 2:58 a.m. on eastbound U.S. 52 near Ironton.

A canine unit from the Huntington, W.Va. Police Department performed a vehicle sniff and found more than half a pound of heroin concealed behind the vehicle’s taillight.

Robinson was taken to the Lawrence County Jail and charged with possession of heroin and trafficking in heroin, both felonies of the first degree.
