Anyone interested in what’s happening with Ironton City Schools and its 1,500-plus student body will have the opportunity to find out on Monday.
Superintendent Dean Nance will give a “State of the School” address in the auditorium following the regular meeting of the Ironton Board of Education. This is the second time in two years Nance will give the address.
“I have always updated the board members,” Nance said. “Then there was the thought to hold a public meeting and let anyone who wanted attend and hear it for themselves firsthand. We did it last year and it was well-received by the public.”
Just like last year, this year’s address will be filmed and broadcast on channel 25 and a copy of the PowerPoint Nance will use for the address will be available on www.tigertown.com and on the district’s Facebook page.
“We have sent invitations to all elected officials and other community leaders,” Nance said. “Anyone in the community who wants to come is welcome and encouraged to do so.”
Refreshments will be served starting at 7 and the address will begin at 7:30 p.m. Nance anticipates the address lasting about 45 minutes.
