Fairland wins OVC volleyball crown

PROCTORVILLE — The Fairland Lady Dragons showed up in the showdown.

The Lady Dragons needed a win Monday to claim the Ohio Valley Conference volleyball title outright while the River Valley Lady Raiders needed a win to earn a share of the crown.

Fairland was able to take the championship outright with a tightly contested four-set win, 25-23, 22-25, 26-24 and 25-23.

The Lady Dragons are now now 13-4 overall and finishes 9-1 in the OVC.

Taylor Perry had a big game for Fairland with 15 points and 27 digs. Kelsey Riley had 15 hits and 23 digs.

Jenna Fulks scored 15 points and Ellen Hinshaw 11 in the winning effort. Mackenzie Riley recorded 12 hits.

Rachel Smith scored 25 points to lead River Valley.
