Hornets win 4-team golf match

PINE GROVE — The Coal Grove Hornets used their five-man squad to win a four-team golf match Monday at the Ironton Country Club.
Coal Grove had a 173 team score to win the match. The Ironton Fighting Tigers were next with a 198 total followed by the South Point Pointers with a 210 and the Rock Hill Redmen at 250.
Brandon Adkins took medalist honors with a 38 to lead the Hornets. Brent Morgan was next with a 39, Luke McGraw had a 42 while Tori Holmes and Ryan Malone each had a 54.
Jaylen Thornhill led Ironton as he carded a 45. Cory Rawlins and Mitchell Weisgarber each shot a 49 and Mason Slagel was next with a 55. Trevor Hacker shot a 61 and Luke White was one shot back at 62.
Austin Wellman shot a 48 to lead the Pointers. Madison Riley, Tyler Porter and Barbara Collins all had a 54, Kyle Goodson put up a 56 and McKenzie Schweickart-Evans was next with a 68.
Logan Barcus shot a 58 and Austin Barcus a 59 to lead Rock Hill. Gavin Boggs followed with a 64, Logan Boggs had a 66, Gabe Casey 67 and Drew Brammer 68.
