Billy Joe Fyffe

Billy Joe Fyffe, 63 of Ironton, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born March 24, 1950, the son of the late Ray and Mabel Murnahan Fyffe. He is preceded in death by his wife, Karen Johnson Fyffe.

Mr. Fyffe attended Rock Hill High School and a former self-employed contractor, a former oil rig worker in Oklahoma, and was of the Nazarene faith.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas Fyffe and Bob Fyffe; and three sisters, Wilma Walter, Linda Dodson, and Jo Ann Fyffe.

He is survived by son, William J. Fyffe of Ironton; daughter, Andrea McCallister of Winchester, Ky.; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Connie Fyffe of Ironton; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Paul Shope of Ironton; sister-in-law, Annie Fyffe of Marion; brother-in-law, Paul Walter of Marion; brother-in-law, Doug Dodson of Hanging Rock; and companion, Debbie Yeley of Ironton.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

 

Carl Sizemore

Carl Roy “Hoot” Sizemore Jr., 65, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland Ky., surrounded by family and friends after an extended battle with cancer. The Pedro native was born Dec. 29, 1947. He was the son of the late Rev. Carl and Ruth Sharp Sizemore.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Rickey Lee Sizemore. Hoot will be sadly missed by his wife, Brenda (Mullins) Sizemore of Pine Grove. Children include Veronica (Barry) Armstrong of Dayton, Mark (Dee) McKenzie of Ironton, and Carl Roy Sizemore III of Ironton. Grandchildren include Joey (Crystal) Mays, Jason (Tara) Mays, Jeremy Mays, Logan McKenzie, Lakyn McKenzie and Talyn McKenzie and great grandchildren Brycen and Carly Mays. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Barbara (Robert) McFann of Waterloo, June Sanders of Pedro, Dottie (Keith) Markel of Pedro, Candy (Raymond) Hammon of South Point, Penny (Carl) Russ of South Webster, the Rev. Jesse (Carolyn) Sizemore of Pedro, Harlene (Jerry) Rogers of Pedro and Mark (Lisa) Sizemore of Pedro.

His early departure from this world has left a large void in many hearts. We all love you Hootie. Funeral will be 12 p.m. Wednesday at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home.

The Rev. Shane Hanshaw will be officiating. Burial will be in Pinegrove Cemetery Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral.

T.J. Wernham, 34, of Huntington, W.Va., died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.
