SOUTH POINT — The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce will help Lawrence County citizens engage with lawmakers during its annual Legislative Day trip to Columbus May 9.
The trip costs $70 per person and includes lunch and transportation. A bus will leave from the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot in Ironton at 6:45 a.m. Jerry Rowe, Chamber director, said there are about 15 seats left.
“This is an opportunity to hear the legislators speak,” Rowe said. “There will be two breakout sessions, one on economic development and one on transportation.”
These two topics are important to Lawrence County, Rowe said, as economic development and new transportation projects are helping to shape the county. He cited the new Ironton-Russell Bridge as being one of those ventures.
Rowe said each breakout session is expected to be an hour and a half to two hours in length. There will be a guest speaker still to be determined.
Those seeking more information or wish to reserve a spot, can call the Chamber at (740) 377-4550.
