Trevor White and Aaron Stephens. “Big, strong athletes who can really throw the ball well.” Luke Diamond “good control and a great curveball.” Defense—“We have very solid defensive players who are versatile and can play multiple positions.” Easterling and Diamond share SS. Lawless 3B, Battise 1B, Trevor Easterling 2B. White and Stephens will play a lot. C Mo Phillips RS, Stephens and Hunter Webber to play. OF has Korey Kellogg, Cody Wise, Tanner Price and Webber. Jalen Schweickart may play.
CONCERNS: Hitting—“We’re not tearing the cover off the ball by any means. I think with more time and work our hitting will improve.

#-Denotes OVC game
STRENGTHS: The last time Fairland had a mix of seniors (60 and a junior pitcher was Leroy Baise’s 2006 team that went 22-1. Although high expectations, total senior commitment, effort and leadership along with a good mix of underclassmen that provides speed, and the strong pitching of Chandler Fulks, coach Joe Auxier said Fairland “hopes to be one of the top contenders for the conference title and come out with a winning season.”
CONCERNS: Must replace 1B Keri Napier who was errorless the past two years. Ellen Hinshaw moves from LF to 1B and Auxier said, “we think she will do a good job.” First team all-district SS Jaime Phillips had knee surgery in December but is ready to play. She will play some 2B and 1B and PH until she is 100 percent. Mackenzie Riley played well in RF last year and will cover early at SS for Phillips.
NOTABLE: “We have a good freshman class that has speed and athletic skills and who will push for and receive quality playing time.”
