Cecil Ackison
Cecil H. “CC” Ackison Jr., 52, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Ironton.
He was born Oct. 6, 1960, a son of the late Cecil H. Ackison and the late Mary Littleton. He was a member of the Moose, Eagles, and of the Christian faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two uncles that raised him, Donald and Charles Ackison.
Survivors include his fiancée at home, Janette Keaton; three brothers, Donnie (Jennifer) Ackison, Roger Ackison and his fiancée Sherry Short, Johnny Ackison, all of Ironton; two sisters, Mary Rowe and her fiancé Jimmy McCallister and Lynn (Daniel) Newhouse, also of Ironton; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Monday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jack Pemberton officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrence Furnace Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Chapel. Memorial donations should be made to the funeral chapel to help with final expenses. Friends and families can share memories or condolences on the facebook page for Brown Funeral Chapel.

Rosemary Davidson
Rosemary Miller Davidson, 93, of South Point, Ohio passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at home. She was born Jan. 1, 1920 in Rome, daughter of the late Earl S. and Lyndall Miller. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Davidson in June, 2003.
She was a graduate of Rome High School class of 1937. She was an employee for 20 1/2 years of the First National Bank of Ironton. She was a long time member of South Point Methodist Church, charter member of the United Methodist Women and a member of South Point Homemakers.
She is survived by a son Tom (Beth) Davidson of South Point; four granddaughters Jill (Ronald) Starr and their children Tori, Hunter and Molly; Kerri (Von) Virgin and their children Heath, Reese and Lane; Paige (Jay) DeLapa and their children Alex and Nicholas; and Sara (Paul) Tadak and their children Olivia and Miles.
Funeral service will be conducted noon Saturday at South Point United Methodist Church by Pastor Howard Preston. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial scholarship fund has been established in the name of Rosemary Davidson at South Point United Methodist Church, 202 Third St. E South Point, OH 45680. Wilma Baker
Wilma Jane Baker, 77, of New Albany, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. She was born June 5, 1935 in Coal Grove, the daughter of the late James W. Legg and Lottie Ackerson Legg. She married Harold W. Baker on July 25, 1959. He passed away on Jan. 28, 2013, at New Albany Gardens and Care Center.
She is survived by her sister, Janice E. Wright of Sumter, S.C.; brothers, James W. (Andrea) Legg of Crossville, Tenn., and Ronald L. (Carolyn) Legg of Sydney; brother-in-law, Richard (Mavis) Baker of Gahanna; nieces, Rhonda C. Fisher of Lexington, Ky., Alison Legg of Colstrip, Mont., Melanie (Todd) Corry of Xenia, and Cheryl (Michael) Harrison, of Columbus; nephew, Donald Wright of Waynesboro, Va.; cousins, Marjorie K. Adkins of Ironton, Jane Ann Riley of Coal Grove, and Sandy Riley of South Point.
She was a graduate of Greenfield McClain High School in Greenfield, and Bliss Business College in Columbus. She worked for several years in a clerical position at what is now called Defense Supply Center, Columbus (DSCC). She was also a licensed cosmetician and a homemaker.
Services are to be private with inurnment at Mifflin Cemetery, Columbus.
Mary Spears
Mary Alice Nolan Spears, 70, died in Temple, Texas, on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013. Graveside rites will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky., with the Rev. Mark Wilson officiating. The viewing will be on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky. Carl Groves
Carl Groves, 64, of Ashland, Ky., died Jan. 29, 2013, at his home. Keeping with his family’s wishes he will be cremated and burial will be at a later date in the Johnson Cemetery in Catlettsburg.
