Myrtle Miller
Myrtle M. Miller, 86, of South Point, passed away, Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Springfield native was born Feb. 13, 1926 the daughter of the late Charles and Pearl Massie Massie. She is survived by her husband, Henry E. Miller whom she married Oct. 15, 1945.
Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Waterloo High School and was a retired secretary for the Symmes Valley School District. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Waterloo Chapter, a past worthy matron and a member of the Highway Baptist Church in Aid. Mrs. Miller was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Arnold Miller; five sisters, Mary Miller, Lucille Miller, Pauline Wilson, Opal Ellsberry, Ella Mae Mitchell and a brother, Everett Massie.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Connie and Larry Massie of South Point, and Terri and Doug Higgins of Willow Wood; three grandchildren, Darcie Williams, Jacob Browning and Marissa Wilson and five great grandchildren, Emma, Ellie, Evan and Jase Williams, and Claire Wilson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor John Paul Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
Mildred Ward
Mildred “Midge” Kennedy Ward, of Huntington, W.Va., died Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, W.Va. She was the wife of Robert Ward, who survives. Funeral will be 6 p.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church of Ceredo. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville. Wayne A. Boggs, 59, of Proctorville, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.
