Lady Bobcats outlast Chesy

CHESAPEAKE — When the Green Lady Bobcats turn on their offense, Jenna Crawford is usually at the switch.
Crawford went 4-5 with a double, a triple and six runs batted in as Green beat the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 18-7 on Tuesday.
“Crawford had a real nice game. She’s back in a groove,” said Green coach Dale Royse.
Besides Crawford, Micah Lewis was 2-4 with a double as Green banged out 11 hits. The Lady Bobcats also took advantage of 15 walks.
Chesapeake had 10 hits with Macy Allen going 3-5 and Alyssa Scott 2-4.
Green took a 4-1 lead in the first inning thanks to a pair of walks, Crawford’s two-run double and an RBI single by Erin Imes.
Green (10-13) led 9-6 when the Lady Bobcats scored five times in the sixth inning.
Rayna Boggs and Emma Salisbury singled, Kaitlin Hodson walked and Lewis had a two-run double. Sammi Crisp walked, Crawford singled home two more and Krashawna Jones had an RBI single.
The Lady Bobcats added four more runs in the seventh inning.
Boggs and Hodson walked, Salisbury reached on an error, Lewis was hit by a pitch, Crisp walked and Crawford drilled another two-run single.
Green hosts Symmes Valley on Wednesday.
