Lady Dragons pound out win

PROCTORVILLE — The bats are booming.
The Fairland Lady Dragons continued their hot-hitting with 19 hits as they rolled to an 18-4 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Coal Grove Lady Hornets on Wednesday.
“We’re hitting the ball pretty well right now,” said Fairland coach Joe Auxier whose team improved to 7-0 overall and 2-0 in the league.
McKenzie Riley and Chelsey Stanley led the onslaught.
Stanley was 4-4 with a doubled an four runs batted in while Riley was 3-4 with a home run and a pair of RBI.
Caitlin Stone was 2-3, Chandler Fulks 2-4 and two RBI, Brianna Yates 2-2, Chloe Stanley 2-3 and two RBI and Claire Hinshaw 2-3 with an RBI.
Shelby Haynes was 2-3 with a double to lead Coal Grove.
Hinshaw went three innings for the win. She struck out thee, walked two and gave up three hits. Fulks finished and struck out three, a walk and a hit.
