MANCHESTER – The Green Bobcats know how to rebound.

After losing a heartbreaker on Friday when Notre Dame hit a seventh inning home run to win 6-5, Green seemed to be feeling the affects Saturday morning in the first game of a doubleheader against the Manchester Greyhounds.

The Bobcats (2-2) had six errors that led to seven unearned runs in an 11-9 loss. But they rebounded in style with a 10-2 romp in the second game.

“We played flat the first game, but we showed some heart and played to our potential in the second game,” said Green coach Dan McDavid.

Cody Bruce had a two-run single and Colton Brammer and RBI single as Green went up 3-1 in the first inning.

Two runs scored in the second on an error and an RBI single by Bruce.

The Greyhounds went up 7-5 after three innings but the Bobcats scored four times in the fourth on singles by Steve Ratcliff, Mike Avery and Brammer and two-run double by Bruce.

But three errors enabled Manchester to score four runs in the fifth inning to get the win.

Bruce was 3-3 with four runs batted in while Brammer went 2-4.

Bruce got the win in the second game as he pitched a six-hitter, struck out nine and walked two. He also went 3-4 with two RBI.

Brammer was 2-4 with two RBI as Green collected 11 hits.

Avery singled, stole second and scored on Bruce’s hit to make it 1-0 in the first inning.

It was 4-0 in the fourth inning when Bruce singled, Ratcliff walked, Caleb Johnson singled for a run, Matt Howard singled in a run and Avery hit a sacrifice fly.

Two runs scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Bramme and Johnson’s RBI ground out.

After Manchester scored twice in the bottom of the fifth, Green got four in the sixth.

Avery and Clay Applegate walked, Rob Applegate had a two-run double, Bruce double in a run and Brammer singled in another.
