A 27-year-old Ironton man will go to prison for three years and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life after he pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Brandon Dixon, of 2435 S. Ninth St., told Judge D. Scott Bowling, “I’m sorry. I’m sorry for everything that happened.”

Dixon’s attorney, Warren Morford, said Dixon, the victim and others had been socializing in a bar shortly before the incident.

Dixon and the victim, Morford said, later went to the house of one of the people in the group where Dixon and the victim wound up in bed.

“He touched her. This was not something she wanted. He is very remorseful and sorry for what happened,” Morford said.

Judy L. Campbell, 56, of 2507 Farmhill Drive, Flatwoods, Ky., pleaded guilty to one count of identity fraud, one count of forgery and one count of possession of drugs, all felonies, plus misdemeanor counts of possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bowling sentenced her to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation (CCS/ISP) and six months in jail, suspended. Bowling also fined Campbell $1,250 and ordered her to serve six months home confinement.

“We feel this is an appropriate sentence,” Campbell’s attorney, Chris Delawder, said. “Judy is 56 years old. She has no felony record. She has apologized.”

When asked if she had anything to say, Campbell said, “I apologize for everything. I apologize to the court.”

Also Wednesday, Stella Tapscott, 27, of 1809 R Buffington Ave., Huntington, W.Va., pleaded guilty on a bill of information to one count of possession of drugs (oxycodone).

“I’m guilty. I shouldn’t have done what I was doing,” Tapscott told Bowling.

Bowling sentenced her to six months in prison and fined her $1,250.
