Clarence Miller

Clarence “Ricky” Miller, 60, of Pedro, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born May 25, 1951, the son of the late Clarence Oscar and Anna Kerns Miller. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Layne Miller, whom he married June 19, 1971.

Ricky was a 1969 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He was a former weightman for the Marquette Cement Plant, retiring in 2000. He attended Kelly’s Bridge Independent Baptist Church where he was a youth group Sunday school teacher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Miller; two sisters, Sonja Kerns and Clarice Ann Carmon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lori and James Holbrook of Ironton; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kelli Miller, both of Ironton; two granddaughters, Shanae Eaches and Tabitha Jane Miller, both of Ironton; a great granddaughter, Aleigha Riley Lawless of Ironton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Bonnie Miller and Mark and Connie Miller, all of Pedro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and Randy Goodall and Brenda and Bud Depriest, all of Pedro.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Bryon Carmon officiating. Burial will follow in Puckett Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

Elsie Grizzle

Elsie Branham Grizzle, 77, of Flatwoods, Ky., died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. She was the wife of Leonard Grizzle, who survives. Funeral will be at noon Wednesday at England Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Catlettsburg, Ky., with Brother Leroy Dixon and Brother Amos Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Branham Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. at the Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland, Ky.

 

Emma Markel

Emma Markel, 88, of Ironton, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home.
