Meyer’s staff adds Coombs

COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer has named that Kerry Coombs (kohmbs), an assistant coach at Cincinnati, an assistant coach in charge of the Buckeyes’ cornerbacks.
Meyer announced the appointment of Coombs Wednesday. He’s spent five years at Cincinnati and previously was head coach at Colerain High School, his alma mater.
Coombs is an associate head coach at Cincinnati and the team’s defensive backs and special teams.
Coombs was part of former coach Brian Kelly’s three Cincinnati teams that were 33-7 overall and played in BCS bowl games after the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
Coombs, a member of the Dayton’s 1980 Division III national championship team, also has been an assistant coach at Greenhills and Lakota high schools and a head coach at Loveland High School.
