WILLOW WOOD — Jerome Fuller might be able to get a job in his spare time as a psychic.

Fuller told his team to be wary of the Green Bobcats despite their 3-11 record coming into Friday’s Southern Ohio Conference game.

His fears became a reality as Green escaped with a 67-65 win.

“I told the team before the game that Green had won three games and we had won six but there wasn’t much difference between us. They’ve lost a lot of close games,” said Fuller.

“They played awfully well and we could have played better. We had a lot of unforced turnovers.”

Green (4-11, 3-6) had four players in double figures led by Cody Bruce with 22 points and 9 rebounds.

Clay Applegate scored 16 while Rob Applegate and Tyler Crace added 10 points each.

Austin Baldwin had 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Vikings (6-8, 6-3). Alec Herrell scored 12 points while D.J. Miller added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Green led 15-10 at the end of the first quarter but Miller scored 7 points and Baldwin 6 in the second quarter as the Vikings got within 32-30 at the half.

Bruce scored 7 points in the quarter to keep Green in front.

Symmes Valley rallied in the third quarter to take a 45-44 lead.

Baldwin had 10 points in the fourth quarter but Bruce also scored 10 points including 8 of 10 at the line. Green was 13 of 18 at the foul line in the quarter with Crace hitting 3 of 4.
