The residents of River’s Bend Healthcare were blessed by the generosity and kindness of local churches, individuals and community groups this Christmas season.
Fairland High School senior Whitney Morris volunteered to help prepare for and assist with our party, which took place Dec. 23.
Donna Haas provided decorative centerpieces and music was performed by singer/guitarist Jason Jobe. James Crum, Jack Radcliffe and members of the American Legion Chesapeake Post 40 visited and brought gifts to our veterans.
Sabra Maynard and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Huntington gave gifts to 32 residents; parishioners at Tri-State Worship Center provided gifts. First Burlington Baptist Church brought religious pillows. The ladies of the Kenova Church of Christ provided gifts for 30 seniors. Anita Quisenberry and the Lawrence County Homemakers Club brought presents.
Brad Wright and Cheryl Bruneth of Covenant Home Health collaborated with Dee Staley with Staley’s Pharmacy, Ironton, to coordinate gifts for 27 residents.
Big Lots and Fruth Pharmacy of Huntington, McMeans Pharmacy, South Point, and the KYOVA Mall, Cannonsburg, placed residents’ names on trees and the Sybene Senior Center provided treat bags.
Wee Shine Preschool of Proctorville brought dozens of youngsters who performed holiday songs and gave hugs, fresh fruit and handmade cards.
The choir from the Cecil Underwood Senior Center of Huntington performed popular Christmas songs. Kelley’s Bridge Irish Band of Ironton delighted us with jigs, reels, waltzes and Christmas songs.
We sincerely thank all who helped make this Christmas very merry for our seniors!
