ARGILLITE, Ky. — Greenbo Lake State Resort Park, in partnership with the Greenup County Extension Arts Council, will present a weekend seminar, “Become A Better Songwriter,” Jan. 27-28.

The seminar will include workshops, jam sessions and a dinner concert on Saturday night, Jan. 28.

The special guest for the seminar will be singer-songwriter Rick Ferrell, writer of Tim McGraw’s “Something Like That” and Martina McBride’s “Where Would You Be.” Rick Ferrell is a native of Portsmouth, and has had his songs recorded by a wide range of artists, from Earl Thomas Conley, Eddie Raven and Tanya Tucker to new country artists such as Montgomery Gentry, Julianne Hough, Rio Grande and others. At the end of 2009, Ferrell’s song, “Something Like That,” emerged as the most played song of the decade on radio in any musical genre.
