SOUTH POINT — The South Point Junior Pointers 7th grade boys beat the Fairland Junior Dragons 44-32 Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

A.J. Nease had 18 points to lead South Point. Ty Staten had 19 and Hunter Ashton 11 for Fairland.

Fairland 5 13 4 10 = 32

South Point 11 15 7 11 = 44

FAIRLAND: Ty Staten 19, Ethan Marcum 2, Hunter Ashton 11.

Junior Flyers suffer

road loss at Green

FRANKLIN FURNACE — The St. Joseph Junior Flyers dropped a 29-16 decision to the Green Bobcats on Thursday.

Judge Williams and Trey Neal had 4 points each to lead the Flyers. Brad Rist added 3 points while Alex Ward and Zach McGraw had 2 each.

St. Joseph plays at New Boston on Monday.

The Junior Flyers opened the season with a 30-20 loss at Huntington (W.Va.) St. Joe.

Neal led the Flyers with 7 points and McGraw scored 5. Williams added 3 points and Rist 2.
