According to a statement from Sheriff Jeff Lawless, Peltier is accused of robbing the O’Connell Convenience Store in Pittsfield, Mass., Oct. 27. Authorities investigating that crime tracked Peltier to this area.

Lawless said Peltier attempted to run out the back door of the residence where he was staying but the house had been surrounded by law enforcement officials and Peltier was taken into custody without incident.

Peltier was taken to the Lawrence County Jail. An extradition hearing will be Friday in Lawrence County Municipal Court before Judge Donald Capper.
