Council will also consider a resolution to apply for a Natureworks grant. In the past the city has gotten such grants and used them to construct the Etna Street Skatepark and for the riverfront development.

Finally, council will consider a resolution to pursue a Water Pollution Control Loan for repair and replacement of home sewage treatment systems.

The regular council meeting at 6 p.m. will be preceded by a 5:45 p.m. joint city council/Upper Township trustees meeting.

The two governmental entities appoint the three members to the Woodland Cemetery Board. There is a vacancy in the Ironton seat after former council member Chuck O’Leary chose not to seek re-election to the city council seat and is therefore no longer on the cemetery board.

The makeup of the cemetery board is one township trustee, one city council member and one citizen at large.

Council meets on the third floor of the Ironton City Center.
