Ruffner sparks Lady Panthers to first win

CHESAPEAKE — Amanda Ruffner is the take charge player for the Chesapeake Lady Panthers.

Ruffner did just that Thursday as she took charge and racked up 29 points and 13 rebound to lead the Lady Panthers to a 58-24 win over the St. Joseph Female Flyers.

Jordan Porter added 13 points and 7 rebounds while Sydnee Hall had 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Jackie Nelson and Hall had 4 assists each and Sarah Rice had 4 steals.

Hannah Miller scored 19 points to lead the Female Flyers (2-1).

Porter scored 8 points in the first quarter as Chesapeake went ahead 12-4. Ruffner then took over and scored 12 points in the second quarter as the lead grew to 53-12 at the break.

Ruffner got 15 points and Porter 5 in the third quarter as the Lady Panthers outscored the Female Flyers 23-1.

On Monday, Chesapeake (1-1) visits Gallipolis and St. Joseph hosts Coal Grove.
